Dean is an ultra-runner, mountaineer and adventure seeker. His love of expeditions led him to completing his Paramedic degree and earning multiple designations in Wilderness Medicine. He has honed his skills both on the ambulance and in austere environments. He has used these skills along with his ability to organize, plan and lead in a variety of environments to serve as medic/pacer for athletes in Death Valley, runs across the US, Nepal, Africa and numerous mountaineering expeditions.
Dean has deployed with multiple International Medical Teams providing care for the citizens of Guyana and the Bahamas following Hurricane Dorrian. With the explosion of the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic Dean headed to New York City in April to work in a field hospital ICU providing patient care until July. In 2022 Dean deployed to the Ukraine where he led a medic team teaching TCCC to the Territorial Defense Forces around the frontlines.
Additionally, Dean is a Level III state certified EMS instructor and Level 9 ASHI instructor for Wilderness First Aid/Responder courses. Always seeking to improve his skills, Dean is currently completing a Paramedic to RN bridge program.
When at home Dean enjoys running, rock climbing at the local crags, practicing jiu jitsu and training for his latest obsession..Spartan Races with his 9 year old son, his favorite Spartan! Dean is a full time paramedic in EMS, an entrepreneur, a combat veteran of the United States Marine Corps and graduate of Murray State University. He resides in Paducah, Ky with his son Ethan.
